Behind the "door" of actionkidz.

If you've ever wondered what goes on in actionkidz after the "blast door" goes down...here's some pics. Thanks so much to all of our actionkidz leaders for taking a "diesel garage stall" and turning it into an absolutely top notch childrens ministry experience! actionkidz teaching time (that's "fake smoke" for the lights folks :-)

The best part of actionchurch...

I wanted to put some pictures up of actionkidz upstairs. I've had so many people say after going upstairs and visiting actionkidz, "wow, I had no idea what a great children's area was just upstairs". Jeff and Chrissie Compton have done a great job of setting up an exciting environment for children to hear about Jesus. actionkidz is not "babysitting" or "child care" it just may be the most important thing we do on Sunday morning...

We currently need more helpers to interact and play with the "kidz" on Sunday morning. No teaching experience necessary. If you are interested in helping out once a month in the best part of actionchurch please contact Michele at info@actionchurch.com .

Floor cleaner thingee...

Yesterday afternoon I was at Fat Daddy's learning how to use the new "floor cleaner thingee". (kind of like a zamboni for tile...only you can't ride on it...I tried) I'm really excited about how much time and effort this will save our actionkidz volunteers on Sunday Mornings...no more mopping, Chrissie! Now if they could only invent a bathroom cleaning robot...then Michele's job would be much easier/less disgusting on Sunday Mornings...

I am really thankful to the owners of Fat Daddy's not only for continuing to upgrade the club but for always including us in the process...I honestly could not think of another place I would rather rent for actionchurch at this point. Only God could plan such an odd and great relationship between a church and a nightclub...

...it's the people!.

I tend to blog about the "stuff" that's happening at actionchurch...but as I preached yesterday (doh)...it truly is the relationships and people that make up the thing we call "church". John, Yvonne, Elijah, and Jared Featherstone have been part of the actionchurch story since the very beginning. I still remember telling John and Yvonne that we were starting a church in a nightclub...because they are from England they thought we were "mad" instead of "crazy" like our American friends did. Ironically we were sitting in their backyard when we got the phone call from the owners of Fat Daddy's finalizing our deal to meet there. Yvonne is the creator of the actionkidz logo and all the amazing original characters that you see upstairs on Sunday Mornings. (one of her latest creations below). Elijah and Jared have had the chance to enjoy the actionkidz experience on Sunday mornings and Elijah even chose to write about in his kindergarten journal (Yvonne and journal above). The featherstones will be moving back to England in June to start a kennel business and settle into "farm life" in the country. Yvonne will continue to supply us with great characters and art online but we will miss our friends so much...

This is just one of the "stories" of the people of actionchurch...there are so many others...I just wanted to take a moment and "value relationships over just "getting stuff done".
